Sunday 27th September saw the second of the three Club Championships, the Time Trial. The weather wasn't bad but a little drizzle dampened the day plus a sturdy breeze left the riders knowing they had completed the undulating 19.4 mile course from Borrisoleigh to past Shallee Cross via Ballinamona Cross. The fastest time was achieved by Will Murphy but with handicaps in place, this week, third place went to Eamon Hartnett while the evergreen Neil Gallagher claimed second spot. The trend set last week continued however with another new club member being declared champion for 2009 and that was Duncan Hodgins.
The final Club Championship, the hill climb is on Sunday next, October 4th and the meeting place is Moynan's shop at 9.30am.

It is always good to see new club champions and even better to see a new club member winning. And this year we had three new club members taking the top places which is even more unusual especially when the three of them are also very new to racing. They had a hard time too in their first club championship race as there was a stiff head wind that left everyone gasping. Will Murphy and Shane Scully crossed the line together in the fastest time but the chasing group rode well within their handicaps which were set after last weeks race. Keith Horan claimed third place and Duncan Hodgins was second and the new Club Road Race Champion is Liam Callaghan.
